Agency Description:
The Central Coast Wetlands Group (CCWG) at Moss Landing Marine Labs is a collaborative research and conservation organization founded to advance science and the protection, restoration, and adaptive management of wetlands and coastal habitats along California’s Central Coast. With a strong foundation in wetland science and policy, CCWG specializes in wetland monitoring, regional planning, and the development and implementation of innovative projects to address sea level rise, habitat loss, and water quality. Our team integrates scientific research with on-the-ground restoration and stakeholder engagement to provide data-driven solutions for conserving important ecosystems.
Intern Responsibilities:
A variety of activities based on the interest of the intern. Responsibilities can include: weeding, planting, and site maintenance at dune and wetland restoration sites, field data collection at estuaries (spring and fall), water quality data collection, data entry, GIS support (must have some experience), literature reviews for research projects, and community outreach for public planting days. For Senior Internships we can work with the student on designing a project to fulfill the requirements.
